In many cases the carburetors and fuel injectors should be cleaned bi-annually and are usually scheduled along with the annual svc. We will check to see if your carburetor or fuel injectors (gas & diesel) need cleaning and make a recommendation at that time.
Due to the increased volume of calls regarding bad gas, this is my advice, get fuel conditioner each time you fuel up with gas containing
Ethanol and I recommend that
FUEL WATER SEPARATORS be installed on all gas boat motors where the Captain has elected to use road grade gasoline. The bills related to ethanol use, especially in outboards and any boats that sit for weeks at a time are going to be astronomical according to our trade journals.
Save yourself some $$ and aggravation now by installing a FUEL WATER SEPARATOR.
Please note: Almost all trim/tilt issues, all lower unit (repairs and maintenance) and all prop/tiller repairs most be done with the boat pulled from the water and also not on davits (unless you have swing davits with cradles). We need solid, stable terra firma for lower unit issues. I don't want to see your prop or lower unit in the drink. Ok?
BOAT PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS
PRE-PURCHASE MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL BOAT INSPECTIONS: PLEASE CALL FOR QUOTE, COST DEPENDS ON BOAT AND MOTOR SIZE. Inspections start at $179.00 for small pleasure craft.
Stem to stern inspection. Written report e-mailed or mailed upon request. Spend a little, potentially save a lot. Don't make a mistake that could you THOUSANDS!!
Inspection covers; All registration and serial numbers for motor, hull and trailer. Trailer condition, lights and wiring, wench, top/bimini condition, functioning of tilt/trim, trim tabs, throttle and steering cables, bilge pump, COMPRESSION TEST IS PERFORMED AND PRESSURES ARE NOTED, thorough electrical system assessment, cooling system, spark plugs, spark plug wires. Inspect all hydraulics for leaks. The hull is inspected for soft spots, stress cracks, patches and re-glassing, cabin condition and appliances are also checked for proper functioning as necessary.
Sea Trials can be arrange and are charged at our regular hourly rate, see above.
Prepurchase mechanical/electrical inspections are for the edification of the boat purchaser only and cannot
be used for appraisal, insurance or finance purposes unless accompanied by a Survey from a SAMS Certified Surveyor.
